xmas 2013 - 1 Saturday, December 7th saw nearly 200 joining together at the Radisson Blu Hotel at East Midlands Airport.  This new hotel is an ideal venue for our group with facilities exactly suited to our requirements, location just off the M1 and for many seeing the planes taking off and landing meant that this hotel was just the best ever.
The day started with families meeting up over refreshments and the children working out where all the fun was to be had!  They all kept on checking to make sure that our special visitor was coming and that he was bringing pressies with him.  We assured them that we had received confirmation that he was coming to us straight down from the North Pole.  His elves were in charge of the presents and they had been busy wrapping the goodies up especially for our group.
xmas 2013 - 2Families took part in discussion groups, giving everyone the opportunity to talk about concerns they had, sharing information and generally supporting each other where they could.  This also gave new families the chance to get involved right from the start.
Professor Chris Oliver’s team carried out research and as always, we thank them for their support.  The team rushed back and forward scooping up families for their appointments.  The hours were marching past and before we new it, it was time for lunch.
And then the welcome shout of “Tombola is open”.  There was a mad daxmas 2013 - 3sh and I nearly got trampled in the stampede.  What fun!
Then it was time to watch for the sleigh coming and it most certainly did.  Santa and his elves were greeted by all and we were all so excited that he found it really difficult to actually get down from his sleigh, we all wanted to have a ride.   By with a “HO HO” he settled down, everyone got in a line.  I think all the nodding of heads was in answer to his question, “Have you been good?”. They all met with Santa, got their present and had their photo taken.  We hope you enjoy the couple of photos here.
After the raffle prize giving, it was time to relax.   But not for long, as it was soon dinner time and a time to relax and have some fun.  We, as always, enjoyed RTS Has Talent and the dance floor was full once the disco swung into action.
And then time for bed …….
